As I sat there and thought about all the things Iād learned, all the amazing people Iāve had the privilege of meeting and the wild events that brought me there in the first place- I had no choice but to give God thanks.
Though I had no clue what would be in store next for me and my two duffle bags, I knew what matteredāthat I was obedient to a trustworthy God and that my friends, is the āØbeginning of success.āØ
If youāve ever had trepidation about whatās next or stuckālike your plans arenāt unfolding the way you envisionedāyouāre not alone. Maybe youāre an ambitious creative, entrepreneur, or a leader whoās been grinding, strategizing, and pushing forward but still feel drained. Or perhaps youāre working in ministry, trying to grow your churchās social media, build a brand, or launch a new digital media project, yet nothing seems to be clicking.
Hereās the hard truth: Sometimes, the breakthrough doesnāt come from DOING more, but from SURRENDERING.
šļøSurrendering to the fact that you donāt know everything and you never will.
šļøSurrendering to the fact that God has a plan for you that can and will be carried out without you knowing every detail.
šļøSurrendering to the truth that whatās in store for you is not contingent ONLY on hustle but simultaneously in rest.
Even Jesus, in His humanity, wrestled with surrender. He knew the weight of the cross and still chose to trust Godās greater plan. In Luke 22:42, He said, āFather, if you are willing, take this cup from Me; yet not My will, but Yours be done.ā
His surrender led to the greatest victory, eternal life for all who believe!
The takeaway? If youāre leading in a creative or ministry spaceāwhether through brand storytelling, content marketing, or church media strategyāyour impact wonāt always be measured in instant success. (Even Jesus needed His 3 days)- True influence comes when we align with a greater vision beyond ourselves and surrender to Godās will for us.
How does this apply to your brand, business or churchās digital strategy?
Letās make this practical:
Building a Brand? Be willing to pivot. Sometimes, the niche you start with isnāt the one youāre meant to grow in. Trust the evolution and listen to the ones closest to you. Who do people say that you are? Not saying you should be a people pleaser, but lean into what works!
Creating Digital Media? Content is king, but connection/community is šøš¾ queeeeeen. Instead of forcing virality (whichā¦babesā¦cāmon- no need to search for a needle in a haystack)- focus on meaningful engagement. This past week Iāve been going live on TikTok on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays from 11- 12 pm EST and though itās new to me, the connections Iāve made in just ONE week far outweigh the likes and comments Iāve received on all my socials combined. Community is and will always be That šš¾ Girl šš¾
Church Social Media Strategy? Ministry in the digital age is NOT about chasing trendsāitās about stewarding influence well. Surrender perfectionism, and start sharing authentically. What is it that your congregation already enjoys engaging with? How can you lean into and expand on that?
Iāll leave you with this. Surrender isnāt about giving upāitās about letting go for something greater. Whether youāre navigating a personal transition (like me and my two canvas bags), building a brand, or helping your church establish a digital presence, remember this: Godās plan will ALWAYS exceed our own.
